  5. This echo is based on the National Basketball Association (NBA), and all 
  6. discussion should revolve around the game of basketball and the NBA.
  7.  
  8. We're here to have fun.  If you're not a basketball fan, you're in the wrong 
  9. echo.  Therefore, lets all try to have fun and keep things in as light of a 
  10. modd as possible.  No flaming, personal attacks, or foul language is 
  11. permitted.
  12.  
  13. Discussion of the NCAA is considered off topic, except in regards to the 
  14. draft.  Discussion of how a player is doing and how its affecting his position 
  15. in the draft is ok.  Discussion of the tournament is not.  This rule is in 
  16. effect as well for the CBA and USBL.  I expect that this kind of talk will be 
  17. kept to a minimum until February.  In March it may pick up, however, the talk 
  18. *MUST* be about the DRAFT, *NOT* the Tournament.  When the season ends, NCAA 
  19. discussion will be given more flexibility since the draft will be the main 
  20. topic of conversation.

  22. Any discussion on betting is STRICTLY PROHIBITED.
  23.  
  24. Test messages are sent out on a regular basis by nodes who are just connecting 
  25. to the echo.  While these are annoying, they are generally just a new sysop 
  26. finding his/her way around.  Only the moderator may respond to these messages.
  27.  
  28. You are expected to know the rules.  The rules are posted at a MINIMUM of once 
  29. a month.  Any new rules or rules changes will be outlined with one line of 
  30. *'s at the beginning of the changes and at the end.  You are expected to pay 
  31. attention and to follow the new rules as you are expected to follow the other 
  32. rules.  These lines will also include additions to the suspension list.
  33.  
  34. This echo may not be gated in any way to any other net without the moderators
  35. permission.
  36.  
  37. No advertisements for other echoes or any type of commercial material is 
  38. permitted on this echo.  Advertisements of other echoes and nets MAY be
  39. permitted, but require moderator approval.  Such messages in regards to 
  40. commercial material may result in a cut of feed on first offense, depending 
  41. on the severity of the situation.  This will be dealt VERY seriously, since 
  42. Fidonet is an ameteur network.
  43.  
  44. Direct postings of published material, i.e. magazines and newspapers, is 
  45. STRICTLY PROHIBITED.
  46.  
  47. No signatures/tags should exceed 4 lines, and must be less than %25 of the 
  48. message.
  49.  
  50. Taglines must be clean.   This is a family echo where all are invited.  Any 
  51. taglines deemed crude by the moderator will deem a warning.
  52.  
  53. Please let the Moderator do the moderating.  If a user is suspended, it is the 
  54. Moderators job to handle the situation and handle the suspended user.
  55.  
  56. No fantasy league talk is permitted whatsoever.
  57.  
  58. No basketball card talk is permitted whatsoever.
  59.  
  60. To talk Fantasy Basketball, ask your sysop to pick up FANTASY_SPORTS
  61. To talk College Basketball, ask your sysop to pick up SPORTS
  62. To talk about basketball cards, ask your sysop to pick up BB_CARDS
  63.  
  64. Other sports echoes include: ML_BASEBALL, NFL, HOCKEY, SPORTS

  68. If a person is found guilty of violating these rules, depending on the 
  69. severity, the person will be subjected to the following disciplinary actions :
  70.  
  71. A) 50 Echobucks to be donated to the Michael Jordan wing of the NBA's AA 
  72. (Airballer's anonymous) club.
  73. B) 100 Echobuck fine and forced to watch a Minnesota Timberwolve game.
  74. C) 200 Echobucks to the JSSA fund, one Minnesota Timberwolve game, and 
  75.       mandated to watch Michael Jordan shoot 36 holes of golf (this may be 
  76.       declared unconstitutional under the "cruel and unusual punishment" 
  77.       clause)
  78.  
  79. More serious punishments may result in :
  80.  
  81. A) 30, 60, or 90 day suspension.
  82. B) 6 month suspension
  83. C) 1 year suspension
  84. D) Total link cut from system for 6 months to a year.
  85.  
  86. The following user has been suspended :
  87. Scott Halloway, 1:312/74, until January 1, 1996.
